Family support and adherence to treatment in patients with tuberculosis from the Lima Centro Health Network, 2023

Abstract

Objective: Determine the relationship between family support and adherence to treatment in patients with tuberculosis from the Lima Centro Health Network, 2023. Methodology: The present research has an applied purpose of a practical nature with quantitative approach, correlational level, cross-sectional, non-experimental design executed in a population of 73 patients receiving treatment in health centers through the survey technique with two instruments corresponding to each variable. Results: A predominance of the male sex was found at 57.5%, prevalence in the range of 21 to 30 years with 27.4% and the Affective, Emotional and Instrumental dimensions of family support, the good level, has the highest values with 38. 36 and 41 representing 52.1%, 49.3% and 56.2% respectively, showing a total adherence. Conclusions: It is determined that the relationship of family support in adherence to treatment in patients with tuberculosis is positive and very good (Spearman's Rho = 0.808) and a calculated significance value of p = 0,000 < 0,01.

Determinar cuál es la relación entre el apoyo familiar y la adherencia al tratamiento en pacientes con tuberculosis de la Red de Salud Lima Centro, 2023. Metodología: La presente investigación es de propósito aplicada de naturaleza práctica con enfoque cuantitativo, nivel correlacional, corte transversal, diseño no experimental ejecutada en una población de 73 pacientes que reciben tratamiento en los centros de salud a través de la técnica la encuesta con dos instrumentos correspondientes a cada variable. Resultados: Se encontró un predominio del sexo masculino en un 57,5 %, prevalencia en el rango de 21 a 30 años con un 27,4 % y en las dimensiones Afectivo, Emocional e Instrumental del Apoyo familiar, el nivel Bueno tiene los valores más altos con 38, 36 y 41 que representan el 52,1 %, 49,3 % y 56,2 % respectivamente, mostrando un Adherencia total. Conclusiones: Se determina que, la relación del apoyo familiar en la adherencia al tratamiento en pacientes con tuberculosis es positiva y muy buena (Rho de Spearman= 0,808) y valor de significancia calculada de p = 0,000 < 0,01.
