Knowledge and practices of pressure injury prevention in primary caregivers of patients in the internal medicine service of the Central Military Hospital - 2022

Abstract

The present thesis entitled "knowledge and practices of prevention of pressure injuries in primary caregivers of patients in the internal medicine service of the Central Military Hospital - Lima 2022", had the general objective: Determine the relationship between the level of knowledge and the practice of prevention of pressure injuries of the caregiver of the elderly in a home care program of the Central Military Hospital in the year 2022. This descriptive study with a quantitative approach, its method was hypothetical-deductive and with a non-experimental, correlational design. cross section; Its sample population consisted of caregivers of older adults enrolled in a home care program at the Central Military Hospital, to whom two duly validated and reliable instruments will be applied: Questionnaire on caregiver knowledge about prevention of pressure injuries in older adults. and caregiver preventive scales measurement scale for pressure injuries in older adults. Once the information has been collected, data will be created in the Excel program, then the SPS statistical package version 26.0 will be used and the results will be presented in tables, with their respective graphs.

La presente tesis titulada “conocimiento y prácticas de prevención de lesiones por presión en cuidadores primarios de pacientes del servicio de medicina interna del Hospital Militar Central – Lima 2022”, tuvo como objetivo general: Determinar la relación entre el nivel de conocimiento y la práctica de prevención de lesiones por presión del cuidador del adulto mayor en un programa de atención domiciliaria del Hospital Militar Central en el año 2022. Este estudio tipo descriptivo con enfoque cuantitativo, su método fue hipotético-deductivo y con un diseño no experimental, correlacional de corte trasversal; su población muestral estuvo constituida por cuidadores de adultos mayores inscritos en un programa a de atención domiciliaria del Hospital Militar Central, a quienes se le aplicará dos instrumentos debidamente validados y confiables: Cuestionario del conocimiento del cuidador sobre prevención de lesiones por presión en el adulto mayor y escala de medición de escalas preventivas del cuidador en lesiones por presión del adulto mayor. Una vez recolectada la información se creará una data en el programa Excel, luego se hará uso del paquete estadístico SPS versión 26.0 y los resultados se presentarán en tables, con sus respectivos gráficos.
