Level of knowledge about biosafety and practices against biological risk in nursing graduates of a national hospital in Lima - 2021

Abstract

Objective: To determine the relationship between the level of knowledge about biosafety and practices regarding biological risk among nursing graduates at a National Hospital in Lima – 2021. Materials and Methods: This study had a quantitative approach, with a basic level, descriptive-correlational type, and a non-experimental cross-sectional design. The sample consisted of 80 nursing graduates. Data were obtained through a questionnaire and a checklist. Results: 12.50% had a deficient level of knowledge about biosafety, and 38.75% had an average level. The study concluded that there is a significant relationship between the level of knowledge about biosafety and practices regarding biological risk among the nursing graduates in the hospitalization services.

Objetivo: determinar la relación que existe entre el nivel de conocimiento sobre bioseguridad y las prácticas frente al riesgo biológico en los licenciados de enfermería de un Hospital Nacional de Lima – año 2021. Material y método: presentó un enfoque cuantitativo, con un nivel básico, de tipo descriptiva correlacional y un diseño no experimental de corte transversal, asimismo la muestra fue 80 licenciadas en enfermería. Los datos se obtuvieron a través de un cuestionario y una lista de cotejos. Resultados: El 12.50% presenta un nivel de conocimiento sobre bioseguridad en un nivel deficiente, el 38.75% regular, concluyendo que existe relación significativa entre el nivel de conocimiento sobre bioseguridad y las prácticas frente al riesgo biológico en los licenciados de enfermería de los servicios de hospitalización.
