Factors associated with depression in patients with chronic myeloid leukemia treated at a specialized institute in Lima, 2023

Abstract

The objective of this thesis was to "Determine the factors related to depression in patients with chronic myeloid leukemia treated at a specialized institute in Lima, in the year 2023". Methodology. Quantitative approach, hypothetical deductive method, type of applied research, non-experimental, correlational, and cross-sectional design. The population was 95 participants, we worked with a census sample because the study subject was 100% of the population, it was possible to access the entire population, it was small and manageable. He applied two instruments. The results of this study reveal that in the contingency analysis (cross tables), in the variable factors the low level predominates in 34.7%, with 33 patients being located at this level and in terms of the variable depression, predominates the low level with 37.9% in 36 patients. The sociodemographic factor dimension is significantly related to the depression variable with a significance value p=0.000, the economic factor dimension is significantly related to the depression variable with a significance value p=0.039, and the disease duration factor dimension is related significantly to the depression variable with a value of significance p=0.025. In conclusion, there are factors related to depression in patients with chronic myeloid leukemia treated at a specialized institute in Lima in the year 2023. Rho= 0.365 and the significance value was p=0.000.
