Knowledge and attitude of nursing staff regarding cleaning, disinfection and sterilization of medical devices in the sterilization center of a hospital in Lima 2020

Abstract

It is the commitment of Nursing in the Sterilization Center to rigorously comply with processes of cleaning, packaging, sterilization/disinfection, storage and distribution of medical devices, for this it is important to have the theory and that the attitudes are favorable to prevent risks and possible harm to the user. . The objective of this academic work is to determine the relationship between the level of knowledge and the attitude of Nursing staff regarding cleaning, disinfection and sterilization of medical devices in the Sterilization Center of a hospital in Lima, 2020. Quantitative study, descriptive approach with correlational, cross-sectional method. The technique will be the survey, the Knowledge Questionnaire and the Likert-type Attitude Scale will be the instruments, the content validity of both instruments by experts is 83% and the reliability is 0.7 for the Questionnaire and 0.9 for the Attitude-type Scale. Likert using Crombach's α formula. After having collected the data, they will be processed using SPSS 26.0 statistical program. Spearman's correlation coefficient will be applied, which will serve to measure strength and direction when associating these two variables. Your results will be presented in statistical graphs and tables, with data interpretation and analysis.

Es compromiso de Enfermería en la Central de Esterilización cumplir rigurosamente procesos de limpieza, empaque, esterilización/desinfección, almacenamiento y distribución de dispositivos médicos, para ello se hace importante tener la teoría y que las actitudes sean favorables para prevenir riesgos y posibles daños al usuario. El presente trabajo académico tiene como objetivo determinar la relación entre el nivel de conocimiento y la actitud del personal de Enfermería sobre limpieza, desinfección y esterilización de dispositivos médicos en la Central de Esterilización de un hospital en Lima, 2020. Estudio de tipo cuantitativo, de enfoque descriptivo con método correlacional, de corte transversal. La técnica será la encuesta, el Cuestionario de conocimientos y la Escala de actitudes tipo Likert serán los instrumentos, la validez del contenido de ambos instrumentos por expertos es de 83% y la confiabilidad de 0.7 para el Cuestionario y 0.9 para la Escala de actitudes tipo Likert mediante la fórmula α de Crombach. Después de haber recolectado los datos, se procesarán mediante programa estadístico SPSS 26.0. Se aplicará el coeficiente de correlación de Spearman que servirá para medir fuerza y dirección al asociar estas dos variables. Sus resultados serán presentados en gráficos estadísticos y tablas, con interpretación y análisis de datos.
