Self-care and quality of life of patients with chronic kidney disease, undergoing hemodialysis treatment, at the renal life center, Lima 2022

Abstract

Patients suffering from kidney disease are affected in different spheres of their lives; Social, psychological – emotional and physical, will require a system of renal replacement therapy, in addition to palliative treatments for the maintenance of their health and control of the symptoms that cause this disease which must be fulfilled by the patient, encouraging their self-care, since in this way an improvement in the quality of life will be evidenced. Objective: This research project, entitled "SELF-CARE AND QUALITY OF LIFE OF PATIENTS WITH CHRONIC KIDNEY DISEASE, IN HEMODIALYSIS TREATMENT, OF THE RENAL LIFE CENTER, LIMA 2022" aims to show if there is a correlation between self-care and quality of life of patients diagnosed with chronic kidney disease, who are undergoing hemodialysis therapy. Method: A hypothetical deductive methodology was used, with a quantitative approach, correlational, cross-sectional design. The population and finite sample will be 80 patients receiving hemodialysis therapy at the Renal Life Center. As instruments, they were considered; As a technique, a survey for data collection and two questionnaires to determine the variables self-care and quality of life. And thus, be able to identify the relationship that exists between these two study variables.

Objetivo: El presente proyecto de investigación, demostrará si existe una correlación entre las variables autocuidado y calidad de vida en los pacientes diagnosticados con Enfermedad Renal Crónica, que están sometidos a terapia de hemodiálisis del Centro Vida Renal Lima 2022. Material y Método: El proyecto responde a la metodología de tipo hipotético deductivo, con un enfoque cuantitativo, de diseño correlacional, trasversal. La población y muestra finita serán constituidas por 80 pacientes que reciben terapia de hemodiálisis en el Centro Vida Renal. Como instrumentos, se consideraron; como técnica una encuesta para la recopilación de datos y dos cuestionarios para determinar las variables autocuidado y la calidad de vida. Y así lograr identificar la relación que existe entre estas dos variables de estudio. Los cuestionarios, fueron extraídos de estudios previos debidamente validados por juicio de expertos. Los resultados de la confiabilidad fueron medidos por los métodos kuder de Richardson con 0,71 y alfa de Crombach con 0.933, demostrando instrumentos altamente confiables.
