Level of knowledge about acute myocardial infarction and practice of self-care in users of the cardiology service of the Regional Teaching Hospital of Cajamarca, 2023

Abstract

Introduction: Acute Myocardial Infarction (AMI) constitutes one of the health difficulties with high morbidity and mortality for the local, national and world population. The post-infarction patient often does not know about his health process, disease, a factor that determines both positive and negative effects on his self-care actions in the recovery process and reintegration into society. Objective: "To determine the relationship between the level of knowledge and practice on self-care after acute myocardial infarction of users of the Hospital de Cajamarca-2022". Methods: This is a study with a deductive method with a quantitative approach, of a non-experimental design of a correlational type. It consists of two instruments. The first is the post-acute myocardial infarction knowledge questionnaire, which consists of 6 dimensions and 20 items using the Likert scale. The second Questionnaire on self-care practice in patients after acute myocardial infarction consists of 5 dimensions and 16 items with the Likert-type response scale.

Introducción: El Infarto Agudo de Miocardio (IMA) comprende una de las dificultades sanitarias con alta morbimortalidad para la población local, nacional y mundial. El paciente post infartado muchas veces no conoce sobre su proceso de salud enfermedad factor que condiciona efectos tanto positivos como negativos en sus acciones de autocuidado en el proceso recuperativo y de reinserción a la sociedad. Métodos: Se trata de un estudio con método deductivo con enfoque cuantitativo, de diseño no experimental de tipo correlacional. Consta de dos instrumentos. El primero es el cuestionario sobre conocimiento post infarto agudo de miocardio que consta de 6 dimensiones y 20 ítems mediante la escala de Likert. El segundo Cuestionario sobre practica de autocuidado en pacientes post infarto agudo de miocardio consta de 5 dimensiones y 16 ítems con la escala de respuesta de tipo Likert.
