Work stress and performance of the nursing professional of a national hospital in Lima, 2022

Abstract

Objective: To determine the relationship between work-related stress and the performance of nursing professionals at a National Hospital in Lima, 2022. Materials and Methods: The methodology was quantitative, hypothetical-deductive, applied, cross-sectional, and correlational. The population and sample consisted of 87 nurses from a National Hospital in Lima. The instrument used was a structured questionnaire with 36 items, with a Cronbach's Alpha reliability coefficient of 810. Data processing was carried out using SPSS v25. In the normality test, the observed values in the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test statistic indicated that normality was not followed (the data is not normal), so the Spearman's Rho statistic was used. The results revealed that the relationship between the variables was low at 14.9%, medium at 8%, and high at 10.3%. In conclusion, the statistical tests indicate that there is no relationship between the variables (work-related stress and performance). Spearman's Rho: 0.113 p=0.298.

Objetivo: Determinar la relación entre el estrés laboral y el desempeño del profesional de enfermería de un Hospital Nacional de Lima, 2022. Material y métodos: Metodologicamente fue cuantitativa, hipotético-deductivo, de tipo aplicada, trasversal y correlacional. Población y la muestra 87 enfermeras de un Hospital Nacional de Lima. El elemento (instrumento) que se utilizo fue un cuestionario de tipo estructurado con 36 items. que tiene una confiabilidad en coeficiente Alfa de Cronbach de 810. Para procesar datos se utilizó el programa SPSS v25. En contraste de normalidad, los valores observados en el estadístico de prueba Kolmogorov-Smirnov refieren no se está siguiendo la normalidad (no son normales) en ese sentido, se empleó el estadístico Rho de Spearman. Los resultados revelaron que la relación entre las variables es baja en 14.9%, medio en 8% y alto en 10.3%. En Conclusión, las pruebas estadísticas señalan que no existe relación entre las variables (estrés laboral y desempeño). Rho de Spearman: 0,113 p=0,298.
