Adherence to treatment and quality of life in older adult patients with arterial hypertension in a hospital in Lima, 2023

Abstract

This research aims to: Determine the relationship between treatment adherence and quality of life in older adult patients with high blood pressure in a hospital in Lima. The methodology: hypothetical deductive method, non-experimental design, quantitative approach, descriptive, applied, correlational, cross-sectional; The sample will consist of 90 elderly patients, the instruments that will be used for the research work will be “Martín-Bayarre-Grau” that will measure the degree of adherence to treatment by hypertension patients and the “MINICHAL” questionnaire to measure quality of life in older adult patients, which have already been validated; Both instruments have a statistical level of reliability (0.89 and 0.90 in Cronbach's alpha). The information collection will take approximately 30 minutes for each participant. Tables will be used for analysis and interpretation. graphics. Likewise, to contract the hypothesis, the Spearman Test will be used as a statistical estimate, with a confidence level of 95%, an error of 5%, which will be reflected in the contingency table of both variables.

Esta investigación tiene como Objetivo: Determinar la relación que existe entre adherencia al tratamiento y calidad de vida en pacientes adultos mayores con hipertensión arterial en un hospital de Lima. La metodología: método hipotético deductivo, diseño no experimental , de enfoque cuantitativo, de tipo descriptivo, aplicada, correlacional, de corte transversal; la muestra estará constituida por 90 pacientes adultos mayores, los instrumentos que se usaran para el trabajo de investigación serán “Martín-Bayarre-Grau” que medirá el grado de adherencia al tratamiento por parte de pacientes hipertensión y el cuestionario de “MINICHAL” para medir la calidad de vida en pacientes adultos mayores, los cuales ya están validados ; ambos instrumentos tienen un nivel de confiabilidad (de 0.89 y 0.90 en el alfa de Cronbach) estadística, para la recolección de la información se tendrá una duración aproximada de 30 minutos, para cada participante, para el análisis e interpretación se harán uso de tablas, gráficos. Asimismo, para la contratación de la hipótesis, se utilizará como estimación estadística la Prueba de Spearman, con un nivel de confianza del 95%, un error del 5%, el cual será plasmado en la tabla de contingencia de ambas variables.
