Resumen
The purpose was to establish the connection between understanding biosecurity and the execution of nursing in intensive care settings. The methodology used in the research will be quantitative in nature, specifically correlational, and will follow a non-experimental, cross-sectional design. The sample will consist of nurses who meet the predefined criteria for the study. Data collection will be carried out through the application of surveys and observation. These instruments have been validated by experts and demonstrate high reliability, with a Cronbach's alpha coefficient of 0.88, ensuring compliance with all ethical aspects. The results highlighted the importance of having solid knowledge of biosecurity in daily routines, revealing a positive correlation between the level of knowledge and the implementation of safe practices. It is concluded that the thesis not only provides essential information on the relationship between knowledge and the application of biosecurity but also lays the groundwork for future research. The urgency of continuous educational programs is emphasized to ensure safe practices and protect both professionals and patients in intensive care settings.
Resumen
El propósito fue establecer la conexión entre el entendimiento de la bioseguridad y la ejecución de la enfermería en entornos de cuidados intensivos. La metodología utilizada en la investigación será de índole cuantitativa, específicamente correlacional, y seguirá un diseño no experimental de tipo transversal. La muestra estará compuesta por enfermeros que cumplan con los criterios predefinidos para el estudio. La recolección de datos se llevará a cabo mediante la aplicación de encuestas y observación. Estos instrumentos han sido validados por expertos y presentan una alta confiabilidad, con un coeficiente alfa de Cronbach de 0,88, asegurándose el cumplimiento de todos los aspectos éticos. Los resultados resaltaron la relevancia de poseer un conocimiento sólido sobre bioseguridad en la rutina diaria, revelando una correlación positiva entre el nivel de conocimiento y la implementación de prácticas seguras. Se concluye que la tesis no solo aporta información esencial sobre la relación entre el conocimiento y la aplicación de la bioseguridad, sino que también sienta las bases para investigaciones venideras. Se subraya la urgencia de programas educativos continuos con el fin de garantizar prácticas seguras y resguardar tanto a los profesionales como a los pacientes en entornos de cuidados intensivos.
