Level of knowledge and practices on breastfeeding in postpartum mothers of a private clinic, Lima, 2023

Abstract

The objective of this research work is to determine the relationship between the level of knowledge and practices on breastfeeding in puerperal mothers of a private clinic, Lima 2023. The methodology applied in the research is a deductive method, with a quantitative approach, and the type of research is applied, with a non-experimental design, cross-sectional and correlational level, for which 2 instruments subjected to the Kuder Richardson reliability coefficient test; for this, a general value oscillating between 0.7 to 1 applied in the pilot sample and in the total sample of the study was accepted; where it was observed that the internal consistency indicated high reliability and consistency over the minimum required (0.720). The sample is made up of 80 postpartum mothers from a private clinic. Likewise, the data process and all the information collected will be handled in the statistical program SPSS. For this reason, the ethical norms of the nursing professional must be complied with, and both variables will be measured by the chi-square inferential statistic in order to find the relationship that exists between the variables of level of knowledge and practices on breastfeeding.

El presente trabajo de investigación tiene como objetivo determinar la relación entre el nivel de conocimientos y prácticas sobre lactancia materna en madres puérperas de una Clínica privada, Lima 2023 .La metodología aplicada en la investigación es de método deductivo, con enfoque cuantitativo, y el tipo de investigación es aplicada, con diseño no experimental, de corte transversal y nivel correlacional, para lo cual se utiliza 2 instrumentos, un cuestionario de 23 preguntas sobre nivel de conocimientos que indicaron alta confiabilidad y consistencia, dado que los valores sobrepasaron el 0.8 mínimo requerido (0.971) según alfa de Crombach. En cuanto a la guía de observación con 19 ítems para las practicas sobre lactancia materna se sometió a la prueba del coeficiente de confiabilidad de Kuder Richardson; donde indicó alta confiabilidad y consistencia sobre el mínimo requerido (0.720). La muestra está conformada por 80 madres puérperas de una clínica privada. Así mismo, el proceso de datos y toda la información recopilada se manejará en el programa estadístico SPSS. Por ello, ambas variables serán medidas por la estadística inferencial chi cuadrado a fin de hallar la relación que existen entre las variables de nivel de conocimientos y prácticas sobre lactancia materna.
