Hemoglobin relationship and erythrocyte distribution width in patients with different degrees of severity of covid 19, Hospital Carlos Lanfranco la Hoz in the period from july to december 2020

Abstract

SARS-CoV-2 infection spreads between individuals through emitted aerosols. The objectives are to determine the relationship between hemoglobin and erythrocyte distribution width with different degrees of severity of COVID-19 at Carlos Lanfranco Hospital in 2020; to determine hemoglobin levels and erythrocyte distribution width in COVID-19 patients, and to determine the severity proportion in COVID-19 patients. Data collection will occur in the hematology area of the laboratory, reviewing clinical records of patients admitted for COVID-19. Hemoglobin levels and erythrocyte distribution width will be collected, along with age, sex, and severity level. Frequency analysis will be performed for COVID-19 positive cases between July and December 2020, along with statistical techniques including chi-square, t-test, and logistic regression. The EpiInfo statistical software will be used.

La infección por SARS COV.2 se propaga entre personas por medio aerosoles que se emana. Los objetivos son determinar la relación de hemoglobina y ancho de distribución eritrocitaria con diferentes grados de severidad de COVID 19 en el Hospital Carlos Lanfranco en el año 2020; determinar los niveles de la hemoglobina y ancho de distribución eritrocitaria de pacientes con COVID 19 y determinar la proporción de severidad de pacientes con COVID 19. Se procederá con la recolección de datos en el área de hematología del laboratorio, y revisando las historias clínicas de pacientes ingresado por COVID 19. Se obtendrá los resultados de hemoglobina y ancho de distribución eritrocitaria; y en un formato de recolección de datos también se anotará la edad, sexo y nivel de severidad de COVID 19. Se realizará análisis de frecuencia de acuerdo con los casos positivos de COVID 19 de paciente ingresados entre julio y diciembre del 2020, también se asociarán con las técnicas estadísticas de chi-cuadrado, t-test y regresión logística. Para ello, se utilizará el programa estadístico de libre acceso EpiInfo.
