Objective: Analyze the evidence on the effectiveness of ingesting colostrum via the oropharynx to strengthen the immune system in the newborn. Material and Methods: The design of a systematic review. The population is made up of 39 articles that were reviewed, of which only 10 scientific articles were chosen as a sample, their instrument was research based on databases: Pubmed, Cochrane, Database. Results: Of the total articles analyzed, 40% (n= 4/10) are randomized controlled trials (RCTs), 30% (3/10) are cohort studies, 20% (n= 2/10) are reviews. systematic, and 10% (n= 1/10) is quasi-experimental, according to the quality of the evidence it was found to be high in 60% and moderate in 40%. According to the strong recommendation strength 60% and weak 40%. According to the country where the investigations were carried out, they correspond to the United States 70%, China 10%, South Korea 10% and Spain 10% respectively. According to the review, it is evident that 80% (n = 8/10) of the articles indicate the effectiveness of ingesting colostrum through the oropharyngeal route to strengthen the immune system in the newborn and 20% (n = 2/10) of the articles indicate non-effectiveness. Conclusion: 8 of 10 reviewed articles indicate the effectiveness of ingesting colostrum through the oropharyngeal route to strengthen the immune system in the newborn. 2 of 10 articles indicate that ingesting colostrum through the oropharyngeal route is not effective in strengthening the immune system in the newborn; since some authors point out that larger studies are needed to describe the benefit of colostrum.
Resumen
Objetivo: Analizar las evidencias sobre la efectividad de la ingesta de calostro por vía orofaringea para fortalecer el sistema inmunológico en el recién nacido. Material y Métodos: El diseño una revisión sistemática. La población está constituida por 39 artículos que fueron revisados, de los cuales solo se eligieron como muestra 10 artículos científicos, tuvieron como instrumento investigaciones basadas en bases de datos: Pubmed, Cochrane, Database. Resultados: Del total de los artículos analizados el 40% (n= 4/10) son ensayos controlados aleatorizados (ECA), 30% (3/10) son estudios de cohorte, el 20% (n= 2/10) son revisión sistemática, y 10% (n= 1/10) es cuasiexperimental, de acuerdo a la calidad de la evidencia se encontró alta en un 60% y en 40% moderado. De acuerdo a la fuerza de recomendación fuerte 60% y débil 40%. Según el país donde se realizaron las investigaciones corresponden a Estados Unidos 70%, China 10%, Corea de Sur 10% y España 10% respectivamente. Según la revisión se evidencia que el 80% (n = 8/10) de los artículos señalan efectividad de la ingesta de calostro en la vía orofaríngea para fortalecer el sistema inmunológico en el recién nacido y el 20% (n = 2/10) de los artículos señalan la no efectividad. Conclusión: 8 de 10 artículos revisados señalan efectividad de la ingesta de calostro en la vía orofaríngea para fortalecer el sistema inmunológico en el recién nacido. 2 de 10 artículos señalan que la ingesta de calostro en la vía orofaríngea no es efectivo para fortalecer el sistema inmunológico en el recién nacido; ya que algunos autores señalan que se necesitan de estudios más grandes para describir el beneficio del calostro.
