Risk level of falls in pediatric patients of the pediatric medicine service of a perinatal maternity hospital in Lima, 2021

Abstract

Determine the level of risk of falls in pediatric patients in the pediatric medicine service of a perinatal maternity hospital in Lima; 2021. Materials and methods. The present research work is cross-sectional, descriptive level, non-experimental design, hypothetical-deductive method. The population will consist of 60 pediatric patients who are in the pediatric medicine service, the participants were selected according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria set out in the research, an inclusion criterion is that mothers from families who are in to care for their children in the pediatric medicine service. The technique to be used in field work will be the scale with which a significant amount of data will be obtained in an optimal and efficient way. To measure the risk of falls, the Humpty Dumpty data collection scale instrument will be used. The validity of the scale whose reported sensitivity was 0.85, the specificity was 0.24 with positive and negative predictive value 0.53 to 0.63, respectively, comprising 7 items grouped into 2 dimensions, if the score is less than 7 points it will be classified as no risk, if the score is 7 to 11 points it will be low risk, and If the score is greater than 12 points, it is high risk.

Determinar el nivel de riesgos de caídas en los pacientes pediátricos del servicio de medicina pediátrica de un hospital materno perinatal de lima; 2021. Materiales y métodos. El presente trabajo de investigación es de corte transversal, nivel descriptivo, de diseño no experimental, método hipotético-deductivo. La población estará constituida por 60 pacientes pediátricos que se encuentren en el servicio de medicina pediátrica, los participantes fueron seleccionadas de acuerdo a los criterios de inclusión y exclusión planteados en la investigación, un criterio de inclusión es que participaran las madres de familias que se encuentren al cuidado de sus hijos en el servicio de medicina pediátrica. La técnica a utilizarse en el trabajo de campo será la escala con la cual se obtendrá una cantidad importante de datos de forma óptima y eficaz. Para medir el riesgo de caídas, se utilizará el instrumento de escala de recolección de datos de Humpty Dumpty La validez de la escala cuya sensibilidad reportada fue de 0.85, la especificad fue del 0.24 con valor predictivo positivo y negativo 0.53 a 0.63, respectivamente que comprende 7 ítems agrupados en 2 dimensiones, si el puntaje es menor a 7 puntos se calificara sin riesgo, si el puntaje es de 7 a 11 puntos será riesgo bajo, y si el puntaje es mayor a 12 puntos es riesgo alto.
