Knowledge and practices on anemia prevention in mothers of children under 3 years of age, who come to the San Fernando de Ate Vitarte health center, 2021

Abstract

The objective of the study was to determine the relationship between knowledge and practices on anemia prevention in mothers of children under 3 years of age, who attend the San Fernando de Ate Vitarte Health Center, 2021

Materials and methods: The present study had a quantitative approach, its methodological design was correlational-cross-sectional. The sample consisted of 129 mothers. The data collection technique was the survey and the instruments used were the questionnaires on knowledge and practices on anemia prevention.

Results: Regarding the general hypothesis, it can be observed that there is a relationship between knowledge and practices on anemia prevention (p <0.05). According to the specific hypotheses, it can be observed that there is a relationship between knowledge in its generalities dimension about anemia and practices on anemia prevention (p <0.05). Finally, regarding the second specific hypothesis, it can be observed that there is a relationship between knowledge in its preventive measures dimension and practices on anemia prevention (p <0.05).

Conclusions: A relationship was found between the main variables knowledge and practices on anemia prevention. There is a relationship between knowledge in its general dimension about anemia and practices on anemia prevention. Finally, there is also a relationship between knowledge in its preventive measures dimension and practices on anemia prevention.

"El objetivo del estudio fue determinar la relación entre conocimientos y prácticas sobre prevención de anemia en madres de niños menores de 3 años, que acuden al Centro de Salud San Fernando de Ate Vitarte, 2021 Materiales y métodos: El presente estudio fue de enfoque cuantitativo, su diseño metodológico fue correlacional-transversal. la muestra estuvo conformada por 129 madres de familia. la técnica de recolección de datos fue la encuesta y los instrumentos empleados fueron los cuestionarios de conocimientos y prácticas sobre prevención de anemia. Resultados: en cuanto a la hipótesis general, se puede observar que existe relación entre conocimientos y prácticas sobre prevención de anemia (p<0,05). Según las hipótesis especificas, se puede observar que existe relación conocimientos en su dimensión generalidades sobre la anemia y prácticas sobre prevención de anemia (p<0,05). Finalmente, en cuanto a la segunda hipótesis específica, se puede observar que existe relación conocimientos en su dimensión medidas preventivas y prácticas sobre prevención de anemia (p<0,05). Conclusiones: Se encontró relación entre las variables principales conocimientos y prácticas sobre prevención de anemia. Existe relación entre conocimientos en su dimensión generalidades sobre la anemia y prácticas sobre prevención de anemia. Finalmente, también existe relación entre conocimientos en su dimensión medidas preventivas y prácticas sobre prevención de anemia"
