Efficacy of the Yesavage geriatric scale to measure depression in the elderly

Abstract

Objective: To systematically analyze the available evidence from studies on the efficacy of percutaneous aspiration versus tube drainage for the treatment of patients with pneumothorax. Materials and methods: A systematic review of 11 scientific articles on the efficacy of percutaneous aspiration versus tube drainage for the treatment of patients with pneumothorax was conducted in the following databases: Cochrane, Lilacs, Scielo, Medline, and PubMed; all of them were analyzed according to the GRADE scale to determine their strength and quality of evidence. Results: Of the 11 articles reviewed, 72% (8/11) correspond to systematic reviews and meta-analyses, while 38% (3/11) correspond to prospective studies. Of the 11 articles systematically reviewed, 80% (9/11) demonstrate the efficacy of percutaneous aspiration versus tube drainage for the treatment of patients with pneumothorax. Conclusions: Of the 11 articles reviewed, 80% (9/11) demonstrate the efficacy of percutaneous aspiration vs. tube drainage for the treatment of patients with pneumothorax.

Objetivo: Analizar sistemáticamente las evidencias disponibles de los estudios realizados sobre la eficacia de la aspiración percutánea comparado con el drenaje de tubo para el tratamiento de pacientes con neumotórax. Material y método: La revisión sistemática de los 11 artículos científicos encontrados sobre la eficacia de la aspiración percutánea vs. drenaje de tubo para el tratamiento de pacientes con neumotórax fueron hallados en las siguientes bases de datos: Cochrane, Lilacs, Scielo, Medline y PubMed; todos ellos fueron analizados según la escala GRADE para determinar su fuerza y calidad de evidencia. Resultados: De los 11 artículos revisados, el 72% (8/11) corresponden a revisiones sistemáticas y metaanálisis, mientras que el 38% (3/11) corresponde a estudios prospectivos. De los 11 artículos revisados sistemáticamente, el 80% (9/11) evidencian la eficacia de la aspiración percutánea vs. drenaje de tubo para el tratamiento de pacientes con neumotórax.
