The objective of this study was to determine the relationship between functional level and quality of life in older adults during the COVID-19 pandemic at TheraSport, the Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Center. Methodology: Quantitative, descriptive level, cross-sectional, and correlational. Data was collected using the Barthel Index and the SF 36 Health Questionnaire, which measured functionality and quality of life in older adults. The most prevalent age group was 71 to 80 years, making up 41.25% of the population. The sample included 80 older adults. Results: The functionality level was 97.5% independent, while the quality of life level was 88.75% high. Conclusion: There is a relationship between functional level and quality of life in older adults during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Resumen
Determinar la relación entre el nivel de funcionalidad y el nivel de calidad de vida en el adulto mayor durante la pandemia del Covid – 19 en TheraSport, Centro de Terapia Física y Rehabilitación. Metodología: Cuantitativa, nivel descriptivo, corte transversal y Correlaciónales. Se utilizó la recolección de datos, aplicando como instrumentos el Índice de Barthel y el cuestionario de salud SF 36, los cuales midieron la funcionalidad y calidad de vida del adulto mayor. Edad del participante predomina 71 a 80 años siendo 41.25%. La población está conformada por 120 y una muestra de 80 adultos mayores. Obteniéndose los resultados siguientes: El nivel de funcionalidad, tiene un porcentaje de 97,50 % independiente. El nivel de calidad de vida, tiene un porcentaje de 88,75 % alta. Conclusiones: Existe relación entre el nivel de funcionalidad y el nivel de calidad de vida en el adulto mayor durante la pandemia del Covid – 19.
