Sociocultural factors and level of knowledge about neonatal jaundice in postpartum mothers in a national hospital of Lima, 2023

Abstract

INTRODUCTION: Neonatal jaundice represents one of the most frequent causes of hospital readmission. The present investigation will demonstrate the influence that exists between the sociocultural factors that postpartum mothers have as a determining component on the level of knowledge they acquire about neonatal jaundice, promoting the implementation of teaching-learning strategies considering the important role they play. them in the care of the newborn. OBJECTIVE: To determine the relationship that exists between sociocultural factors and knowledge about neonatal jaundice in postpartum mothers. METHODS: The present study will be based on the application of the hypothetical deductive method, with a quantitative correlational approach. For which a representative sample made up of 185 postpartum women will be taken into account, taking into account certain inclusion criteria. Likewise, this study has the advantage of using validated and reliable instruments that have been used in previous studies.

La ictericia neonatal representa una de las causas más frecuentes de reingreso hospitalario. La presente investigación permitirá demostrar la influencia que existe entre los factores socioculturales que tienen las madres puérperas como un componente determinante sobre el nivel de conocimiento que adquieren de la ictericia neonatal, propiciando la implementación de estrategias de enseñanza aprendizaje considerando el rol tan importante que cumplen ellas en el cuidado del neonato. Objetivo: Determinar la relación que existe entre los factores socioculturales y el conocimiento sobre ictericia neonatal de las madres puérperas. Metodología: El presente estudio se basará en la aplicación del método hipotético deductivo, con un enfoque cuantitativo correlacional. Para lo cual se tomará en cuenta una muestra representativa integrada por 185 puérperas teniendo en cuenta ciertos criterios de inclusión. Así mismo este estudio cuenta con la ventaja de usar instrumentos validados y confiables que han sido utilizados en estudios previos.
