Eating habits in high school adolescents from the “Los Reyes Rojos” Private School of Barranco

Abstract

Objective: Determine the eating habits of high school adolescents from the Los Reyes Rojos Private School in Barranco. Material method: The research is framed in the quantitative paradigm, with a non-experimental, descriptive and cross-sectional design. The population was made up of 156 adolescents. The technique used was the survey and the measurement instrument was the Likert scale referring to eating habits, which is composed of 23 items grouped into 2 dimensions. Results: Regarding eating habits in adolescents, the inappropriate habit predominated with 62% (n=96), followed by the appropriate one with 38% (n=60). Regarding the dimensions, in the dimension food characteristics they have an inappropriate habit 74% (n=115), followed by the appropriate one with 26% (n=41), in the dimension non-recommended foods they have an inappropriate habit 68% (n= 106), followed by the adequate one with 32% (n=50).

Objetivo: Determinar los hábitos alimentarios en adolescentes de secundaria del Colegio Privado Los Reyes Rojos de Barranco. Material método: La investigación está enmarcada en el paradigma cuantitativo, de diseño no experimental, descriptivo y de corte transversal. La población estuvo conformada por 156 adolescentes. La técnica que se utilizó fue la encuesta y el instrumento de medición fue la escala de Likert referente a los hábitos alimentarios la cual está compuesta por 23 ítems agrupados en 2 dimensiones. Resultados: En cuanto a los hábitos alimentarios en los adolescentes predomino el hábito inadecuado con 62% (n=96), seguido del adecuado con 38% (n=60). En cuanto a las dimensiones, en la dimensión características alimentarias tienen un hábito inadecuado 74% (n=115), seguido del adecuado con 26% (n=41), en la dimensión alimentos no recomendables tienen un hábito inadecuado 68% (n=106), seguido del adecuado con 32% (n=50).
