Level of physical activity and nutritional status of police personnel from the Directorate against Trafficking in Persons and Illicit Smuggling of Migrants (DIRCTPTIM PNP) – Lima, 2022

Abstract

The research aims to determine the relationship between the level of physical activity and the nutritional status of the police personnel from the Directorate of Human Trafficking and Illegal Migration (DIRCTPTIM PNP) – Lima, 2022. Materials and methods: Descriptive, with a quantitative approach, non-experimental design, and cross-sectional. The sample consists of 213 police officers from the DIRCTPTIM PNP, with a probabilistic sample of 150 police officers. Results: The police personnel from DIRCTPTIM PNP is composed of 69% male and 31% female. Regarding the nutritional status (NAF), mild or low NAF predominated at 51%; meanwhile, 51% of the sample had overweight, and 49% showed a high cardiovascular risk. Conclusions: A reverse relationship was determined between the NAF and nutritional status of the police personnel from DIRCTPTIM PNP; in addition, a high rate of mild or low NAF, overweight, and high cardiovascular risk were shown.

El trabajo de investigación tiene como objetivos determinar la relación entre el nivel de actividad física y el estado nutricional del personal policial de la Dirección de Trata de Personas y Tráfico Ilícito de Migrantes (DIRCTPTIM PNP) – Lima, 2022. Materiales y métodos: descriptiva, con un enfoque cuantitativo, de diseño no experimental y de corte transversal. Asimismo, la muestra comprende de 213 efectivos policiales que pertenecen a la DIRCTPTIM PNP. La muestra probabilística estará conformada por 150 policías. Resultados: El personal policial de la DIRCTPTIM PNP está conformado según sexo por 69% de sexo masculino y un 31% de sexo femenino. En relación al NAF, predominó el NAF leve o bajo con un 51%; mientras tanto, en el estado nutricional, un 51% de la muestra tiene sobrepeso y 49% mostró un alto riesgo cardiovascular. Conclusiones: Se determinó que tiene relación inversa entre las variables del NAF y el estado nutricional del personal policial de la DIRCTPTIM PNP; además, se muestra un alto índice de NAF leve o bajo, sobrepeso y PAB de alto riesgo cardiovascular
