The use of ICT and its relationship with basic language skills in students of the fourth grade of the José María Carbonell-Colombia Educational Institution, 2018

Abstract

Objective: Determine the relationship that exists between the use of ICT and basic language skills in fourth grade students of the Educational Institution "José María Carbonell-Colombia, 2018. Methodology: non-experimental research, correlational level with a quantitative approach because statistics will be used to check hypotheses. The study population consisted of 86 students from the fourth grade of the Rafael RochaJosé María Carbonell Institution. (53 men and 33 women). The variables analyzed were the use of ICT and basic language skills. In the investigation, a general hypothesis and four specific hypotheses were formulated. Results: The general hypothesis was confirmed, which allows affirming that there is a positive and significant relationship between the use of ICT and basic language skills in the fourth grade students of the José María Carbonell Educational Institution. Likewise, specific hypotheses were confirmed, where there is a positive and significant relationship between audiovisual media and textual production, as well as textual comprehension and interpretation; a positive and moderate relationship between computer services and the learning of literature, as well as with the identification of the media. The hypothesis was made applying the Rho Spearman test. Conclusions: The correlation coefficient rho = 0.866 and a value p = 0.000 (p <0.05) allows to affirm that there is a positive and significant relationship between the use of ICT and basic language skills in the fourth grade students of the Educational Institution José María Carbonell, Colombia-2018. Highlighting that said coefficient is of a high magnitude

Objetivo: Determinar la relación que existe entre el uso de las TIC y las competencias básicas de lenguaje en estudiantes del grado cuarto de primaria de la Institución Educativa “José María Carbonell-Colombia, 2018. Metodología: investigación no experimental, del nivel correlacional con un enfoque cuantitativo porque se hará uso de la estadística para comprobar las hipótesis. La población de estudio estuvo compuesta por 86 estudiantes de los grados cuarto de primaria de la sede Rafael Rocha-Institución José María Carbonell. (53 hombres y 33 mujeres). Las variables analizadas fueron el uso de las TIC y las competencias básicas de lenguaje. En la investigación se formuló una hipótesis general y cuatro hipótesis específicas. Resultados: Se confirmó la hipótesis general, que permite afirmar que existe relación positiva y significativa entre el uso de las TIC y las competencias básicas de lenguaje en los estudiantes del grado cuarto de la Institución Educativa José María Carbonell. De igual manera se confirmó las hipótesis específicas, donde existe relación positiva y significativa entre medios audiovisuales y la producción textual, como también con la comprensión e interpretación textual; una relación positiva y moderada entre los servicios informáticos y el aprendizaje de literatura, al igual que con la identificación de los medios de comunicación. La hipótesis fue hecha aplicando el test Rho Spearman. Conclusiones: El coeficiente de correlación rho= 0.866 y un valor p=0.000 (p<0.05) permite afirmar que existe relación positiva y significativa entre el uso de las TIC y las competencias básicas de lenguaje en los estudiantes del grado cuarto de la Institución Educativa José María Carbonell, Colombia-2018. Resaltando que dicho coeficiente es de una magnitud alta.
