Knowledge of the body mechanics technique and application of health personnel in the intensive care unit of a hospital in Barranca, Lima, 2024

Abstract

Body mechanics consists of properly using the human body following and respecting its principles and norms when mobilizing or transporting a patient, so using the musculoskeletal system effectively avoids unnecessary fatigue and some type of injury in health personnel. The present research aims to determine what relationship exists between the level of knowledge and the application of the body mechanics technique in the health personnel of the intensive care unit of a hospital in Barranca, 2024. The study method is hypothetical-deductive, quantitative, correlational and cross-sectional. The population will be finite where the census sample will be the 50 professionals working in the intensive care unit of a hospital in Barranca. The survey and observation technique will be applied using the questionnaire and checklist instruments developed by Gómez and Macedo in 2018 and modified by Bustamante in 2020. The data collected will be processed in SPSS 25 and the Pearson correlation statistical test will be used to test the hypotheses.

La mecánica corporal consiste en usar adecuadamente el cuerpo humano siguiendo y respetando sus principios y normas al movilizar o transportar un paciente, entonces al utilizar el sistema musculoesquelético de manera eficaz se evita la fatiga innecesaria y algún tipo de lesión en el personal de salud. La presente investigación tiene como objetivo determinar qué relación existe entre el nivel de conocimiento y la aplicación de la técnica de mecánica corporal en el personal de salud de la unidad de cuidados intensivos de un hospital de Barranca, 2024. El método de estudio es de tipo hipotético-deductivo, cuantitativo, correlacional de corte transversal. La población será finita donde la muestra censal será los 50 profesionales que laboran en la unidad de cuidados intensivos de un hospital de Barranca. Se aplicará como técnica la encuesta y observación, mediante los instrumentos cuestionario y lista de cotejo elaborados por Gómez y Macedo en el 2018 y modificados por Bustamante en el 2020. Los datos recopilados serán procesados en SPSS 25 y para probar las hipotesis planteadas se usará la prueba estadística de correlación de Pearson.
