Sociocultural factors and compliance with the vaccination schedule, in parents of children under 5 years of age cared for at the Center Maternal and Child Manuel Barreto, Lima 2023

Abstract

General objective: Determine how Sociocultural Factors are related to compliance with the vaccination schedule, in parents of children under 5 years of age attended at the Manuel Barreto Maternal and Child Center, Lima 2023. Research method and design: The applied method was used. The research design is non-experimental and transversal. Population: It consists of 300 parents of children under 5 years of age. Sample: There were 169 parents of children under 5 years of age. Sampling: Probabilistic and the sample selection was simple random. Technique: The survey was used. Instrument: 2 questionnaires were used, the first with a Likert scale and the second with a Likert scale. The data were processed by scale using the SPSS v.28 program. Result: 97% of parents do not comply with the vaccination schedule since they are influenced by social and cultural factors. Conclusion: Sociocultural factors are the main reason for non-vaccination in children under 5 years of age, putting the health of their children at risk.

Objetivo general: Determinar cómo se relacionan los Factores Socioculturales con el cumplimiento con el esquema de vacunación, en padres de niños menores de 5 años atendidos en el Centro Materno Infantil Manuel Barreto, Lima 2023. Método y diseño de investigación: El Se utilizó el método aplicado. , el diseño de la investigación es no experimental y transversal. Población: Está compuesta por 300 padres de niños menores de 5 años. Muestra: Había 169 padres de niños menores de 5 años. Muestreo: probabilístico y muestral la selección fue aleatoria simple. Técnica: Se utilizó la encuesta. Instrumento: 2 cuestionarios Se utilizaron, el primero con escala Likert y el segundo con escala Likert. Los datos fueron procesados por báscula utilizando el programa SPSS v.28. Resultado: existe una probabilidad estadísticamente aceptable. y buena relación entre los factores socioculturales en su dimensión social y cultural con cumplimiento del esquema de vacunación con un Rho de Spearman de p 0.816. aceptando la hipótesis alternativa. Conclusión: Los factores socioculturales influyen significativamente en la no vacunación en niños menores de 5 años, poniendo en riesgo la salud de sus hijos.
