Effectiveness of an educational intervention in improving knowledge in basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation in adults of health workers of the Rímac maternal and child center, Lima - Peru 2020

Abstract

Cardiopulmonary resuscitation is an emergency procedure that was introduced in the 1990s. It is used when the heart has stopped beating or when breathing has stopped. If performed correctly and in a timely manner, it can save lives or prevent permanent brain damage. CPR consists of: supplying oxygen to the lungs with the mouth-to-mouth technique and ensuring blood circulation with chest compressions. The level of knowledge decreases considerably as the months or years go by, and the training in updating topics that is carried out in health establishments is minimal. That is why the research study "Effectiveness of an educational intervention in improving knowledge in basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation in adults of the health workers of the Rímac maternal and child center" will be carried out, which aims to determine the effect produced by an educational intervention in improving the knowledge in basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation of the health personnel of the Rímac maternal and child center, is of quantitative approach and quasi-experimental design, the population will be made up of 65 health workers from the Rímac maternal and child center, 27 nurses, 38 nursing technicians, for data collection. A questionnaire of 20 closed questions based on the American Heart Association (AHA) guidelines will be carried out, with a value of 1 point for the correct answer and as an indicator Knows 15 to 20, partially knows 10 to 15, Does not know less than 10.

La reanimación cardiopulmonar es un procedimiento de emergencia que fue introducida en la década de los noventa, se emplea cuando el corazón ha dejado de palpitar o cuando hay cese de la respiración, y de ser realizada de forma correcta y oportuna puede salvar vidas o evitar daños permanentes del cerebro. la RCP consiste en: suministrar oxígeno a los pulmones con la técnica boca a boca y asegurar la circulación sanguínea con las compresiones torácicas. El nivel de conocimientos a medida que pasan los meses o años disminuye considerablemente y las capacitaciones en temas de actualización que se realizan en los establecimientos de salud son mínimas. Es por ello que se realizará el estudio de investigación “Efectividad de una intervención educativa en mejorar los conocimientos en reanimación cardiopulmonar básica en adultos de los trabajadores de salud del centro materno infantil Rímac”, el cual tiene como objetivo determinar el efecto que produce una intervención educativa en mejorar las conocimientos en reanimación cardiopulmonar básico del personal de salud del centro materno infantil Rímac, es de enfoque cuantitativo y diseño cuasi experimental, la población estará constituida por 65 trabajadores de salud del centro materno infantil Rímac, 27 enfermeras, 38 técnicos de enfermería, para la recolección de datos. Se realizará un cuestionario 20 preguntas cerradas basadas en las guías de American Heart Association (AHA), con valor de 1 punto la respuesta correcta y como indicador conoce 15 a 20, conoce parcialmente 10 a 15, No conoce menor de 10.
