Nursing care in bladder catheterization and urinary tract infections in prostate cancer patients Clínica Detecta, Lima, Lima, 2022

Abstract

The purpose of this research work is to relate nursing care with the prevention of urinary tract infections in patients with prostate cancer, which will be carried out at the Detecta Clinic, Lima, 2022. It is an applied type of research, design non-experimental, correlational and transversal, for which 2 instruments were applied, a questionnaire on nursing care Caring Assessment Instrument (Care-Q) in Spanish version and the second on the prevention of urinary tract infections in patients with a catheter bladder, in a sample of 50 patients with prostate cancer from the Detecta Clinic, taking into account that the support provided by nursing staff in caring for an oncological patient is very important to provide security to the patient before and after treatment. As a result, it was observed that nursing professional patients must show accessibility to patients, explain their situation and provide them with clear answers, ensure that the patient is comfortable, anticipate events, give them confidence at all times and develop actions of monitors and follow up to be warned, in the face of painful circumstances. In conclusion, there is a significant relationship between the nursing care variable and the prevention of infections in the urinary tract of patients with prostate cancer, since providing good care provides security to the cancer patient.

El presente trabajo de investigación tiene como propósito relacionar el cuidado de enfermería con la prevención de infecciones en el tracto urinario en pacientes con cáncer de próstata, el cual se realizará en la Clínica Detecta, Lima, 2022. Es una investigación de tipo aplicada, diseño no experimental, correlacional y transversal, para lo cual se aplicó 2 instrumentos, un cuestionario sobre los cuidados de enfermería Caring Assessment Instrument (Care-Q) en versión español y el segundo sobre la prevención de infecciones en el tracto urinario en pacientes con sonda vesical, en una muestra de 50 pacientes con cáncer de próstata de la Clínica Detecta, tomando en cuenta que el apoyo que brinda el personal de enfermería en cuidar a un paciente oncológico es muy importante para brindar seguridad al paciente antes y después de un tratamiento.Como resultado se observó que es los pacientes profesionales de enfermería deben manifestar accesibilidad a los pacientes, explicarle su situación y facilitarles respuestas claras, que el paciente se halle cómodo, se anticipe a los acontecimientos, darle confianza en todo tiempo y desarrollar acciones de monitores y seguimiento para estar prevenidos, ante circunstancias de dolor. En conclusión, existe una relación significativa entre la variable cuidado de enfermería y la prevención de infecciones en el tracto urinario de pacientes con cáncer de próstata, ya que la realización de buen cuidado otorga seguridad al paciente oncológico.
