Risk factors for hypoglycemia in neonates hospitalized in the neonatology department of the María Auxiliadora Hospital - Lima 2021

Abstract

Objective: Determine the risk factors for hypoglycemia in neonates hospitalized in the Neonatology Service of the María Auxiliadora Hospital – Lima 2021. Material and method: Quantitative approach, design: non-experimental, research level: relational. section: transverse. It is made up of 170 preterm and full-term newborns hospitalized in 2021. The sample size will be 118 preterm newborns hospitalized, a sample achieved with a 5% margin of error and a 95% confidence level; chosen by probabilistic, simple random sampling. Results: This research study aims to provide better strategies regarding hospitalized neonates with a diagnosis of hypoglycemia, which will allow us to provide better chances of survival to our patients, in addition to reducing neonatal morbidity and mortality, and acting immediately to prevent complications and damage. Conclusions: The results that will be obtained will allow new strategies to be established, and therefore the results will serve as a tool for better management of health services.

Objetivo: Determinar los factores de riesgo de hipoglicemia en neonatos hospitalizados en el Servicio de Neonatología del Hospital María Auxiliadora – lima 2021. Material y método: De enfoque cuantitativo diseño: no experimental nivel de investigación: relacional. corte: transversal. Está conformada por 170 recién nacidos pretérminos y a términos hospitalizados en el año 2021. El tamaño de muestra será de 118 recién nacidos pretérminos hospitalizados, muestra conseguida con 5% de margen de error y nivel de confianza del 95%; elegidos por muestreo probabilístico, aleatorio simple. Resultados: Este estudio de investigación pretender brindar mejores estrategias con respecto a los neonatos hospitalizados con el diagnostico de hipoglicemia, que permita brindar mejores oportunidades de sobrevida a nuestros pacientes, además de disminuir morbimortalidad neonatal, y actuar inmediatamente para prevenir complicaciones y daños. Conclusiones: Los resultados que se obtendrán van a permitir establecer nuevas estrategias, y por ende los resultados servirán como herramienta para una mejor gestión de los servicios de salud.
