Effectiveness of vitamin D supplementation to prevent osteopenia in premature newborns

Abstract

The constant investigation of the 24 scientific articles found on the effectiveness of the use of vitamin D supplement to prevent osteopenia in premature newborns, after applying the selection criteria (8 repeated) by title relevance, 10 articles were included for the study, were found in the following database Pubmed, Cochrane, Medline, Scielo, which were analyzed according to the Grade scale to determine their strength and quality of evidence. RESULT: A total of 9 articles were obtained from the research, representing 90% (9/10) of the methodological design of methodological review and 1% (1/10) of meta-analysis. Of the 10 articles systematically studied, 100% managed to demonstrate the effectiveness of the use of vitamin D supplement to prevent osteopenia in premature newborns. CONCLUSIONS: It is obtained that of the 10 articles systematically analyzed, 100% identify the effectiveness of the use of vitamin D supplement to prevent osteopenia in premature newborns.

La investigación constante de los 24 artículos científicos encontrados de la eficacia del uso de suplemento de vitamina D para prevenir la osteopenia en el recién nacido prematuro, luego de aplicar los criterios de selección (8 repetidos) por relevancia de título, se incluyeron 10 artículos para el estudio, fueron hallados en la siguiente base de datos Pubmed, Cochrane, Medline, Scielo los que fueron analizados según la escala Grade para determinar su fuerza y calidad de evidencia. RESULTADO: De la investigación se obtienen un total de 9 artículos que representan el 90% (9/10) al diseño metodológico de revisión metodológica y el 1% (1/10) meta análisis. De los 10 artículos estudiados en forma sistemática, el 100% logran evidenciar la eficacia del uso de suplemento de vitamina D para prevenir la osteopenia en el recién nacido prematuro. CONCLUSIONES: Se obtiene que los 10 artículos analizados sistemáticamente, el 100% identifica la eficacia del uso de suplemento de vitamina D para prevenir la osteopenia en el recién nacido prematuro.
