Knowledge and practice of clinical hand washing in surgical center staff of the Sergio E. Bernales Hospital - Collique, Collique, 2021

Abstract

The present research work entitled "Knowledge and Practice of clinical handwashing of the surgical center staff of the Hospital Sergio Bernales, Collique 2021" is carried out within the scope of nursing in a surgical center, focusing on the knowledge and practice of handwashing, topic of vital relevance within the healthcare field, since the health, well-being and life of the professionals who work in said context and, mainly, of the patients who require surgery for some condition or ailment depend on it. In this sense, handwashing becomes a barrier to avoid nosocomial infections that could harm the healthy development of the service. The objective of which was to determine the relationship between knowledge and practice of clinical handwashing among surgical center staff. Materials and methods: the approach is quantitative, the research is basic, with a descriptive-correlational scope and a non-experimental, transversal design. The sample includes 76 health workers from the Surgical Center of the Sergio E. Bernales Hospital in Collique. The selected technique is the survey and the instruments are the questionnaire for the knowledge variable and a check list for the practical handwashing variable.

El presente trabajo de investigación titulado “Conocimiento y Practica del lavado de manos clínico del personal de centro quirúrgico del Hospital Sergio Bernales, Collique 2021” se realiza dentro del ámbito de enfermería en centro quirúrgico, enfocándose en el conocimiento y práctica del lavado de manos, tema de vital relevancia dentro del ámbito sanitario, pues de ello depende la salud, el bienestar y la vida de los profesionales que trabajan en dicho contexto y, principalmente, de los pacientes que requieren ser intervenidos por alguna afección o dolencia. En ese sentido, el lavado de manos se convierte en una barrera para evitar infecciones nosocomiales que puedan perjudicar el sano desarrollo del servicio. El cual tuvo como objetivo: determinar cuál es la relación entre conocimiento y práctica del lavado de manos clínico del personal de centro quirúrgico. Materiales y métodos: el enfoque es cuantitativo, la investigación es de tipo básica, con alcance descriptivo-correlacional y diseño no experimental, transversal. La muestra 76 trabajadores de salud del Centro Quirúrgico del Hospital Sergio E. Bernales de Collique. La técnica seleccionada es la encuesta y los instrumentos el cuestionario para la variable conocimientos y un check list para la variable práctica de lavado de manos.
