Nurses' knowledge about oral hygiene and its relationship with the practices of the use of chlorhexidine in patients with mechanical ventilation in the intensive care unit of the Guillermo Almenara National Hospital, Lima 2021

Abstract

The objective of this research work is to determine the relationship between nurses' knowledge of oral hygiene and their practices regarding the use of chlorhexidine in patients with mechanical ventilation in the Intensive Care Unit of the Guillermo Almenara National Hospital, Lima 2021. The research method is deductive, with a quantitative approach, and the type of research is correlational, cross-sectional, with a non-experimental design. The population consists of 60 nurses working in the Intensive Care Unit of the Guillermo Almenara National Hospital who meet the inclusion criteria, with the sample comprising the entire population.

El presente trabajo de investigación tiene como objetivo general determinar la relación entre los conocimientos del enfermero sobre la higiene oral y las prácticas del uso de la clorhexidina en los pacientes con ventilación mecánica en la unidad de cuidados intensivos del Hospital Nacional Guillermo Almenara, Lima 2021. Siendo el método de investigación el deductivo, el enfoque cuantitativo, el tipo de investigación es el correlacional de corte transversal y el diseño es no experimental. La población es de 60 enfermeras que laboran en la Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos del Hospital Nacional Guillermo Almenara, que cumplan con los criterios de inclusión, estando la muestra constituida por el total de la población.
