Level of knowledge and practice in the management of traumatic brain injury among nurses in the intensive care unit of Alberto Barton Thompson Hospital, 2022.

Abstract

Objective: To understand the relationship between knowledge and practice in the management of traumatic brain injury among nurses in the intensive care unit of the Alberto Barton Thompson Hospital, 2022. Method: The research is applied and quantitative in approach. It has a relational scope and a cross-sectional design. The sample universe consists of 65 nursing professionals who meet the criteria for selection. Technique and instrument: The survey will be used to collect observations through a knowledge scale and a checklist to assess the procedures. The data collection period will range from September to November 2022 in the ICU service. Once the data is obtained, it will be transferred to an Excel database and then processed statistically using non-parametric tests due to the categorical and qualitative nature of the variables, applying the Spearman correlation coefficient to measure the magnitude of the association and test the hypothesis, all using SPSS 25.

Objetivo: Conocer la relación entre el conocimiento y práctica del manejo de traumatismo encéfalo craneal en enfermeros de la unidad de cuidados intensivos del hospital Alberto Barton Thompson, 2022. Metodo: la pesquisa es aplicada y cuantitativa de enfoque. Es de alcance relacional y de corte transeccional. El universo muestral es de 65 profesionales de enfermería que reúnen con los requisitos para ser elegidos. Técnica e instrumento: Se empleará la encuesta a fin de colectar las observaciones a través de una escala de conocimientos y una lista de cotejo para valorar los procedimientos. El plazo de recolección fluctuará entre setiembre a noviembre de 2022 en el servicio de UCI. Una vez obtenidos los datos estas serán trasladadas a una base de datos en Excel, para luego ser procesadas estadísticamente mediante pruebas no paramétricas por la naturaleza categórica y cualitativa de las variables usando el coeficiente de correlación de Spearman para medir la magnitud de la asociación y confrontar la prueba de hipótesis, todo en el SPSS 25.
