Workload and quality of professional life of nurses in the emergency service of a hospital in Lima - 2023

Abstract

Objective: The main objective of this work will be “to determine how workload is related to the quality of professional life of nursing professionals in a hospital in Lima in 2023.” Methodology. The research will be quantitative and the hypothetical deductive method will be used, it will be applied, the design will be non-experimental, cross-sectional and correlational level. The population will be made up of 80 nursing professionals who work in the emergency service. 02 instruments will be applied, the first to measure workload (CCL) authored by Hellín, which was later adapted in Peru by Santillán Rosell in 2015, which consists of 36 questions and two dimensions: mental load and physical load. The second instrument for quality of life (CVP) was appropriate and validated in several countries in English, it is known by its acronym PQL-35, it was translated into Spanish by Cabezas in 1999, and validated by Calderón in 2018, the questionnaire consists of 35 questions divided into three dimensions: managerial support, workload and intrinsic motivation, both instruments will have answers on a Likert-type ordinal scale; A descriptive and inferential statistical analysis will be carried out and processed with the SPSS 25.0 program in order to obtain quantitative data on both variables; The data will allow an overview of the level of workload to which emergency nursing personnel are exposed and how this relates to their quality of professional life.

Objetivo: El presente trabajo tendrá como objetivo principal “determinar cómo la carga laboral se relaciona con la calidad de vida profesional de los profesionales de enfermería en un hospital de Lima en 2023”. Metodología. La investigación será cuantitativa y se utilizará el método hipotético deductivo, será aplicada, el diseño será no experimental, de corte transversal y de nivel correlacional. La población estará conformada 80 profesionales de enfermería que laboran en el servicio de emergencia. Se aplicarán 02 instrumentos, el primero para medir la carga laboral (CCL) de la autoría de Hellín que posteriormente fue adaptada en el Perú por Santillán Rosell en el 2015 el cual consta de 36 preguntas y dos dimensiones: carga mental y carga física. El segundo instrumento para calidad de vida (CVP) fue adecuado y validado en varios países en inglés es conocido por sus siglas PQL-35, fue traducido al castellano por Cabezas en el año 1999, y validado por Calderón en el 2018, el cuestionario consta de 35 preguntas divididos en tres dimensiones: el apoyo directivo, la carga de trabajo y la motivación intrínseca, ambos instrumentos serán con respuestas en escala ordinal tipo Likert; se realizará un análisis estadístico descriptivo e inferencial y será procesado con el programa SPSS 25.0 para así poder obtener datos cuantitativos de ambas variables; los datos permitirán tener una visión general sobre el nivel de carga laboral al que está expuesto el personal de enfermería de emergencia y como ello se relaciona a su calidad de vida profesional.
