Stress and job satisfaction of nursing staff in the COVID pediatric ICU service at the Villa El Salvador emergency hospital, Lima - 2021

Abstract

Objective: To determine the relationship between the level of work-related stress and job satisfaction of nursing staff in the Pediatric ICU COVID-19 service at Villa El Salvador Emergency Hospital, Lima, 2021. Material and method: This academic work follows the hypothetical-deductive and analytical method, with a quantitative approach. It is basic, descriptive, and conducted in the Pediatric ICU service with all nursing staff, including licensed nurses and nursing technicians. The technique used will be the survey, and the instruments will be a Likert scale, which describes instructions, sociodemographic characteristics, and the questionnaire for both the work-related stress variable (Nursing Stress Scale) and the job satisfaction variable (La Font Roja). Both instruments have content validity and reliability, with Cronbach's alpha coefficient applied, obtaining values above 0.7 for both instruments. Data processing will be carried out using statistical procedures, followed by data entry according to a structured matrix as the database related to the measurement instrument.

Objetivo: Determinar la relación entre el nivel de estrés laboral y el nivel de la satisfacción laboral del personal de enfermería en el servicio de UCI Pediátrica COVID 19 en el Hospital de Emergencias Villa el Salvador Lima, 2021. Material y método: El trabajo académico responde al método hipotético – deductivo y analítico, tiene enfoque cuantitativo, es básica, descriptiva, realizada en el servicio de UCI Pediátrica a todo el personal de enfermería, enfermeros licenciados y técnicos de enfermería. Se utilizará la técnica de la encuesta y los instrumentos son por escala de Likert, que describen instrucciones, características sociodemográficas y el cuestionario tanto para la variable de Nivel de estrés (Escala de Estrés de Enfermería) y la variable de satisfacción laboral (La Font Roja). Ambos cuentan con validez de contenido y confiabilidad aplicando el coeficiente de confiablidad alfa de crombach obteniendo valores por encima de 0,7 para ambos instrumentos. El procesamiento de datos se realizará haciendo uso del proceso estadístico, posterior vaciado de datos de acuerdo a una matriz estructurada como base de datos en relación al instrumento de medición.
