Level of knowledge and practices about the kangaroo mother program in nurses from the neonatal ICU service of the Villa El Salvador Emergency Hospital, Lima -2022

Abstract

The present study called “Level of knowledge and practices about the Kangaroo Mother Program in nurses from the Neonatal ICU service of the Villa el Salvador Emergency Hospital, Lima-2022”, the objective was to: Establish the relationship between the level of knowledge and practices on the Kangaroo mother program in nurses from the ICU service. Although it is true that Nursing plays a fundamental role in the application of the kangaroo mother method; however, despite the demonstrated benefits, barriers that may influence their professional work are documented, which is why it was decided to carry out this research work. Material and Method: It is an application type study, with a quantitative, correlational approach, non-experimental desing and cross-section. The total population included 80 nurses professionals from the unit under study. Two instruments were used: a questionnaire and a checklist.

El presente estudio denominado “Nivel de conocimientos y las prácticas sobre el Programa Madre canguro en enfermeras del servicio de Uci Neonatal del Hospital de Emergencias Villa el Salvador, Lima- 2022”, tuvo como objetivo: Establecer la relación existente entre el nivel de conocimientos y las prácticas sobre el programa Madre Canguro en enfermeras del servicio de Uci Neonatal. Si bien es cierto que, Enfermería ejerce un rol fundamental en la aplicación del método madre canguro; sin embargo, a pesar de los beneficios demostrados, se documentan barreras que pueden influir en su quehacer profesional, es por ello que se decide realizar el presente trabajo de investigación. Material y Método: Es un estudio de tipo aplicativo, de enfoque cuantitativo, correlacional, de diseño no experimental y de corte transversal. La población total consideró a 80 profesionales de enfermería de la unidad sujeta a estudio. Fueron usados dos instrumentos: un cuestionario y una lista de cotejo.
