Syllabus for competencies and academic performance from the perception of the students of a Private University of Lima, 2022

Abstract

The purpose of the research was to determine the relationship between the competency-based syllabus and academic performance from the perception of students at a private university in Lima. It was based on the hypothetical-deductive method, with a quantitative approach, it was a non-experimental research with a cross-sectional and applied type design. The population consisted of 100 postgraduate students from a private university in the year 2022 in Lima-Peru, the sample consisted of 80 students. The technique used was the survey, with a self-applied questionnaire of 26 items, under the Likert scale, which was validated by five expert judges of the research line. It was found that 65% of the students think that the syllabus by competences of their subjects is good, between 52.5% and 71.3% of the students perceive that the summary, general competence, learning achievement, scheduled program and evaluation were good. , the significance value of the relation of the syllabus by competencies and academic performance was 0.001, in the same way for the relation of the dimensions of the independent variable and academic performance; Spearman's Rho degree was between 0.323 and 0.541 for the correlation between the dimensions of the syllabus by competencies and academic performance. The existence of a relationship between the syllabus by competencies and academic performance was determined with a considerable positive correlation.

La finalidad de la investigación fue determinar la relación existente entre el sílabo por competencias y el desempeño académico desde la percepción de los estudiantes de una universidad privada de Lima. Se sustentó en el método hipotético deductivo, con un enfoque cuantitativo, se trató de una investigación no experimental con un diseño transversal y de tipo aplicada. La población estuvo compuesta por 100 estudiantes de posgrado de una universidad privada en el año 2022 en Lima-Perú, la muestra estuvo conformada por 80 estudiantes. La técnica empleada fue la encuesta, con un cuestionario de 26 ítems de tipo escala de Likert, el cual fue validado por cinco jueces expertos de la línea de investigación. Como resultado se obtuvo que existe relación significativa entre las variables ya que el valor de significancia fue de p= de 0.001 < 0,05, así mismo se halló que el coeficiente de Rho de Spearman fue 0,541 por lo que se ha concluido que existe una relación positiva considerable entre las variables.
