Relationship of functional capacity and the risk of falls in the older adults of the Santa María de La Caridad home, 2022

Abstract

The general objective of this research is to determine the relationship between functional capacity and fall risk in elderly individuals at the Santa María de la Caridad nursing home. The population consisted of 60 elderly adults who formed the sample. For the evaluation of functional capacity, the SHORT PHYSICAL PERFORMANCE BATTERY (SPPB) was used, and for fall risk, the TINETTI scale was applied. Among the results, it was found that 35% of those with intermediate functional capacity performance are at risk of falling, 12% with intermediate functional capacity have a lower fall risk, and 7% with intermediate functional capacity have a high fall risk.

Este presente trabajo de investigación tiene como objetivo general determinar la relación de la capacidad funcional y el riesgo de caída en los adultos mayores de casa hogar Santa María de la Caridad. La población fue de 60 Adulto Mayores que conformaron la muestra. para la evaluación de la capacidad funcional -SHORT PHYSICAL PERFORMANCE BATTERY(SPPB) y en riesgo de caída TINETTI entre los resultados podemos mencionar que el riesgo de caída el 35% que representa un rendimiento intermedio de la capacidad funcional tiene riesgo de caída, el 12%que presenta un rendimiento intermedio de la capacidad funcional tiene menor riesgo de caída, el 7% que presenta un rendimiento intermedio de la capacidad funcional tiene un alto riesgo de caída
