Knowledge and practice of prevention of pressure injuries of the caregiver of the elderly in a home care program, Huaraz - 2022

Abstract

The present academic work entitled: knowledge and practice of prevention of pressure injuries of the caregiver of the elderly in a home care program, Huaraz - 2022, had the general objective: Determine the relationship between the level of knowledge and the practice of injury prevention due to pressure from the caregiver of the elderly in a home care program in Huaraz in the year 2022. Descriptive study, with a quantitative approach, its method was hypothetical-deductive and with a non-specific design. experimental-correlational cross-sectional; Their sample population consisted of 82 caregivers of older adults enrolled in a home care program in Huaraz, to whom two duly validated and reliable instruments will be applied: Caregiver Knowledge Questionnaire on Prevention of Pressure Injuries in the Elderly and Scale measuring preventive practices of the caregiver in pressure injuries in the elderly. Once the information has been collected, data will be created in the Excel program, then the statistical package SPSS version 26.0 will be used and the results will be presented in tables, with their respective graphs.

El presente trabajo académico titulada: conocimiento y práctica de prevención de lesiones por presión del cuidador del adulto mayor en programa de atención domiciliaria, Huaraz - 2022, tuvo como objetivo general: Determinar la relación entre el nivel de conocimiento y la práctica de prevención de lesiones por presión del cuidador del adulto mayor en un programa de atención domiciliaria de Huaraz en el año 2022. Estudio tipo descriptivo, con enfoque cuantitativo, su método fue hipotético-deductivo y con diseño no experimental-correlacional de corte transversal; su población muestral estuvo constituida por 82 cuidadores de adultos mayores inscritos en un programa de atención domiciliaria de Huaraz, a quienes se les aplicará dos instrumentos debidamente validados y confiables: Cuestionario de conocimiento del cuidador sobre prevención de lesiones por presión en el adulto mayor y Escala de medición de prácticas preventivas del cuidador en lesiones por presión del adulto mayor. Una vez recolectada la información, se creará una data en el programa Excel, luego se hará uso del paquete estadístico SPSS versión 26.0 y los resultados se presentarán en tablas, con sus respectivos gráficos.
