Level of knowledge on exclusive breastfeeding in mothers in the co-housing service of the National Maternal Perinatal Institute, Lima 2021

Abstract

Objective: Determine the level of knowledge in exclusive breastfeeding in the mothers of the shared accommodation service of the Maternal Perinatal Institute, Materials and methods: The present study has a quantitative approach, descriptive cross-sectional design. The study population will be made up of 80 mothers of newborns from the joint accommodation service. The participating mothers will be selected according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria set out in the research. An inclusion criterion is that all postpartum mothers from the service will participate. of joint accommodation of the National Maternal Perinatal Institute, no more than 4 days old, the exclusion criterion will be that they do not wish to voluntarily participate in the research and mothers who are contraindicated to provide breastfeeding. The instrument was a questionnaire from the study carried out by Obregon, it consists of 24 questions and/or closed statements with multiple and dichotomous alternatives. The questions in the questionnaire are based on the knowledge that mothers of the rooming-in service should have regarding exclusive breastfeeding, the dimensions are to identify knowledge about exclusive breastfeeding, the benefits of exclusive breastfeeding, breast milk, technique of breastfeeding. The evaluation according to the score is good from 14 to 20, average from 7 to 13 and bad from 0 to 6.

Objetivo: Determinar el nivel de conocimientos en lactancia materna exclusiva en las madres del servicio de alojamiento conjunto del Instituto Materno Perinatal, Materiales y métodos: El presente estudio es de enfoque cuantitativo, diseño descriptivo de corte transversal. La población de estudio estará conformado por 80 madres de recien nacidos del servicio de alojamiento conjunto, las madres participantes serán seleccionadas de acuerdo a los criterios de inclusión y exclusión planteados en la investigación, un criterio de inclusión es que participaran todas las madres puerperas del servicio de alojamiento conjunto del Instituto Nacional Materno Perinatal, no más de 4 días de antigüedad, el criterio de exclusión será que no deseen participar voluntariamente en la investigación y madres que tengan contraindicado brindar lactancia materna. El instrumento fue un cuestionario del estudio realizado por Obregon, consta con 24 preguntas y/o enunciados cerrados con alternativas múltiples y dicotómicas. Las preguntas del cuestionario son basadas al conocimiento que deben tener las madres del servicio de alojamiento conjunto en cuanto a la lactancia materna exclusiva, las dimensiones son identificar los conocimientos sobre la lactancia materna exclusiva, los beneficios de la lactancia materna exclusiva, leche materna, tecnica de la lactancia materna. La valoración de acuerdo al puntaje es bueno de 14 a 20, regular de 7 a 13 y malo de 0 a 6.
