Level of knowledge on the management of adult patients with severe traumatic brain injury due to traffic accidents and its relationship with nursing practice in the emergency department of a clinic in Lima, 2023

Abstract

Objective: "To determine how the level of knowledge about the management of adult patients with severe traumatic brain injury due to traffic accidents is related to nursing practice in the emergency department". Methodology: the study will be quantitative, the method to be used will be hypothetical-deductive, cross-sectional. Correlational design. Population: 80 nursing professionals. Instruments: to evaluate the level of knowledge of the personnel, a questionnaire applied by Ruiz 2021 will be applied, which consists of 20 items, validated by expert judgment and reliability by Cronbach's Alpha = 0.806. For the variable "nursing professional practices", an observation guide composed of 30 items will be used, which was validated by Ruiz 2021, by pilot test and reliability by Cronbach's Alpha of 0.895. Data collection will be carried out by means of the survey and observation technique. Data processing and analysis will be performed through statistical analysis and descriptive techniques expressed in percentages and inferential or descriptive statistics will be used for the correlation of variables, as appropriate.

Objetivo: “Determinar como el nivel de conocimiento sobre el manejo de pacientes adultos con traumatismo craneoencefálico severo por accidente de tránsito se relaciona con la práctica de enfermería en el servicio de emergencias.”. Metodología: el estudio será de tipo cuantitativo, el método por utilizar será hipotético-deductivo, de corte transversal. El diseño correlacional. Población 80 profesionales de enfermería. Instrumentos: se aplicará para evaluar el nivel de conocimiento del personal un cuestionario aplicado por Ruiz en el año 2021, el cual consta de 20 ítems, validado por juicio de expertos y confiabilidad por Alfa de Cronbach = 0.806. Para la variable “practicas del profesional de enfermería” se utilizará una guía de observación compuesta por 30 ítems, la cual fue validada por Ruiz 2021, mediante prueba piloto y confiabilidad por Alfa de Cronbach de 0.895. La recolección de datos se realizará mediante la técnica de la encuesta y la observación. El procesamiento y análisis de datos se realizará a través de análisis estadísticos y técnicas descriptivas expresadas en porcentajes y para la correlación de las variables se empleará estadística inferencial o descriptiva según corresponda.
