Comparative efficacy and safety of phosphate binders in hyperphosphatemic patients with chronic kidney disease.

Abstract

Phosphorus binders reduce the absorption of phosphorus obtained from the diet in the gastrointestinal tract. Critical review entitled: The use of phosphorus binders reduce hyperphosphatemia in patients over 18 years of age with chronic kidney disease and on hemodialysis, the objective was to prepare the professional critical commentary, according to the clinical studies related to the subject, with the clinical question: Does the use of phosphorus binders reduce hyperphosphatemia in patients over 18 years of age with Chronic Kidney Disease and on HD?, the method based on evidence from NUBE was used. The search for information was carried out in PUBMED, SCIELO, SCIENCE DIRECT, finding 344 articles, of which 10 articles were selected, evaluated by the critical reading tool CASPE, finally, a Meta-analysis entitled comparative efficacy and safety of phosphorus binders in patients with hyperphosphatemia with chronic kidney disease was selected, with level of evidence AII and Strong Recall Grade; Based on the researcher's experience, critical commentary determined that iron-based phosphate binding agents were the preferred agents in terms of both efficacy and safety.

Los quelantes de fosforo reducen la absorción del fosforo obtenido de la dieta en el tracto gastrointestinal. Revisión crítica titulada: El uso de quelantes de fosforo reducen la hiperfosfatemia en pacientes mayores de 18 años con enfermedad renal crónica y en hemodiálisis, el objetivo fue, elaborar el comentario crítico profesional, según los estudios clínicos relacionados al tema, con la pregunta clínica: ¿El uso de quelantes de fosforo reducen la hiperfosfatemia en pacientes mayores de 18 años con Enfermedad Renal Crónica y en HD?, se utilizó el método, basado en evidencia de NUBE. la búsqueda de información se concretó en PUBMED, SCIELO, SCIENCE DIRECT, encontrándose 344 artículos, de los cuales se seleccionó 10 artículos, evaluados por la herramienta de lectura crítica CASPE, por último, se seleccionó un Metanalisis titulado eficacia comparativa y seguridad de quelantes de fosforo en pacientes con hiperfosfatemia con enfermedad renal crónica, con nivel de evidencia AII y Grado de Recordación Fuerte; según la experiencia del indagador, el comentario crítico permitió determinar que los agentes aglutinantes de fosfato a base de hierro fueron los agentes preferibles en lo que se refiere a eficacia y seguridad simultáneamente.
