Fear and attitudes towards death in older adults admitted to the emergency service of the Ate Vitarte hospital, Lima - 2021

Abstract

The research is applied, with a quantitative approach, with a non-experimental design of correlational and cross-sectional scope. The population will consist of 120 subjects. For convenience, a non-probabilistic sample equivalent to that amount will be assumed. The technique is the survey, while the instrument will be the questionnaire. These are the Fear of Death Scale, authored by Collet-Lester, and the Death Attitudes Questionnaire developed by Martin and Salovey. Both instruments are structured and have validations published as scientific articles, while their reliability coefficient is 0.95 and 0.875, respectively, according to Cronbach's alpha statistician.

La investigación es aplicada, de enfoque cuantitativo, de diseño no experimental de alcance correlacional y de corte transversal. La población estará constituida por 120 sujetos. Por conveniencia se asumirá una muestra no probabilística equivalente a esa cantidad. La técnica es la encuesta, mientras que el instrumento será el cuestionario. Se trata de la Escala de Miedo a la Muerte cuya autoría corresponde a Collet- Lester y el Cuestionario de Actitudes ante la Muerte elaborado por Martin y Salovey. Ambos instrumentos son estructurados y cuentan con validaciones publicadas como artículos científicos, mientras que su coeficiente de fiabilidad es 0.95 y 0.875, respectivamente de acuerdo con el estadígrafo alfa de Cronbach.
