Handgrip strength obtained by dynamometry as an indicator of mortality risk in patients with hemodialysis.

Abstract

Nutritional intervention is important to measure manual pressure strength by dynamometry and determine if this technique can identify the risk of mortality in patients on hemodialysis. The present work aimed to identify the sensitivity of this test to determine the risk of mortality. The clinical question was: Is dynamometry a predictor of mortality risk in patients on RRT for Hemodialysis? The Evidence-Based Nutrition (NuBE) methodology was used. The information search was carried out in PUBMED, MEDLINE, SCIELO, SCOPUS, SCIENCE DIRECT, finding 24 articles, which have been evaluated by the CASPE critical reading tool, ultimately selecting the research work entitled “Manual pressure force as a predictor of mortality from all causes in patients with chronic kidney disease undergoing dialysis: a meta-analysis of prospective cohort studies”, which has a level of evidence I and a strong Grade of Recommendation. It was concluded that the measurement of HGS provides us with useful information about muscle strength in patients and that it could be a simple and reliable tool to predict mortality in patients with CKD undergoing dialysis.

El tratamiento nutricional está basado en el soporte alimentario de una persona, siendo una de las maneras de tratar los problemas médicos o síntomas con dieta especial, la presente investigación secundaria titulada como revisión crítica: terapia nutricional en paciente con cáncer pulmonar, tuvo como objetivo la evaluación sobre la terapia nutricional en pacientes con esta patología; así como, la identificación de las características en su aplicación, la pregunta clínica fue: ¿Cómo influye la terapia nutricional en el progreso de la salud de los pacientes con cáncer pulmonar? Se desarollo la metodología Nutrición Basada en Evidencia (NuBE).
