Knowledge and practice of self-care for arteriovenous fistula in hemodialysis patients in a hospital and clinic in Huancayo, 2023

Abstract

The knowledge and self-care practices of arteriovenous fistula in hemodialysis patients refer to proper self-care of their arteriovenous fistula. This includes keeping the area clean, avoiding trauma, monitoring the fistula regularly, following recommendations, and taking preventative measures to avoid complications. Objective: To determine the relationship between the level of knowledge and practice of self-care of arteriovenous fistula in patients in the hemodialysis area of a Clinic in Huancayo - 2023. Methods: applied, qualitative, hypothetical, correlational and cross-sectional study. The sample will consist of 80 nurses. The survey will be used with two questionnaire instruments of certified and reliable validity, according to the statistical processes. The collected data will be processed in SPSS version 26. The verification of the hypotheses will be carried out through the application of statistical analysis based on Spearman's correlation coefficient, measuring the range relationship between these variables, thus offering a statistically robust and validated for the data set in question.

Los conocimientos y prácticas de autocuidado de la fístula arteriovenosa en pacientes de hemodiálisis se refieren al adecuado autocuidado de su fístula arteriovenosa. Esto incluye mantener la zona limpia, evitar traumatismos, vigilar regularmente la fístula, seguir las recomendaciones y tomar medidas preventivas para evitar complicaciones. Objetivo: Determinar la relación entre el nivel de conocimiento y práctica de autocuidado de la fístula arteriovenosa en pacientes del área de hemodiálisis de una Clínica de Huancayo – 2023. Métodos: estudio de tipo aplicado, cualitativo, hipotético, correlacional y transversal. La muestra estará conformada por 80 enfermeros. Se empleará la encuesta con dos instrumentos cuestionarios de validez certificada y confiables, conforme a los procesos estadísticos. Los datos recolectados serán procesados en SPSS versión 26. La comprobación de las hipótesis se llevará a cabo a través de la aplicación del análisis estadístico basado en el coeficiente de correlación de Spearman, midiendo la relación de rango entre estas variables, ofreciendo así un estudio estadísticamente sólido y validado para el conjunto de datos en cuestión.
