Critical Review: Effect of Covid-19 Confinement on Adult Weight Gain.

Abstract

Social isolation and the use of other measures, such as quarantine or confinement during the development of the Covid-19 pandemic, have been shown to affect different aspects of the lives of the global population. Therefore, the present review, is a secondary investigation titled as a systematic critical review, aimed to identify scientific articles for the critical review of the scientific literature that answers clinical questions. In accordance with evidence-based nutrition, a search for information was carried out in SCOPUS, EMBASE, PUBMED, SCIENCE DIRECT, with 151 initial articles, of which 31 were finally selected and evaluated by the reading tool. CASPE review. After the evaluation, the article that best answered the research question was selected, regarding the impact of confinement on lifestyles that may lead to weight gain. COVID-19 had both a negative and positive impact on practices. across Europe and around the world, and negative dietary habits were associated with other poor lifestyle outcomes, such as weight gain, mental health problems and limited physical activity.

En la presente investigación se dio respuesta a la pregunta clínica fue: ¿La suplementación con probióticos será efectiva para reducir la resistencia a la insulina en pacientes adultos de 18 a 75 años con diabetes tipo 2? Se utilizó la metodología Nutrición Basada en Evidencia (NuBE). La búsqueda de información se realizó en PUBMED, MEDLINE, SCIENCE DIRECT, encontrando 19 artículos, siendo seleccionados 7 que han sido evaluados por la herramienta para lectura crítica CASPE, seleccionando finalmente el artículo de revisión sistemática titulado “Efectos de los probióticos en la diabetes mellitus tipo 2: un meta análisis”, el cual posee un nivel de evidencia AII y Grado de Recomendación Fuerte, de acuerdo a la expertise del investigador. El comentario crítico permitió concluir que los probióticos pueden tener un efecto en la reducción de la resistencia a la insulina mediante la mejora del índice de resistencia a la insulina (HOMA-IR).
