Knowledge about care for polytraumatized patients is related to practices in nurses in the emergency service of a public hospital in Lima Este, 2024

Abstract

The emergency service is an area of special relevance in health institutions and to provide adequate care to patients, highly specialized nurses are required, since the cases that arise involve danger of death. Despite this, shortcomings have been detected in the knowledge of nurses about the care of patients with polytrauma, a panorama that generates limitations in the exercise of a practice that contributes to providing timely and adequate care to these people, making it necessary to carry out this research. to know the situation more precisely. OBJECTIVE: determine how knowledge about care for polytraumatized patients is related to practices in nurses in the emergency service of a public hospital in Lima Este, 2024. MATERIALS AND METHODS: it will be a quantitative, applied, descriptive and correlational study. 60 nurses with polytrauma will participate. The techniques that will be applied are the survey and observation, while the instruments will be a questionnaire and a check list, respectively.

El servicio de emergencia es un ámbito de especial relevancia en las instituciones sanitarias y para desplegar cuidados adecuados a los pacientes se requiere de enfermeros de alta especialización, ya que las casuísticas que se presentan implican peligro de muerte. A pesar de ello, se han detectado falencias en el conocimiento de los enfermeros acerca de la atención de pacientes con politraumatismo panorama que genera limitaciones en el ejercicio de una práctica que contribuya a brindar cuidados oportunos y adecuados a estas personas, haciendo necesario realizar esta investigación para conocer la situación con mayor precisión.
