Nurses' knowledge and practice on suctioning secretions in intubated adult patients in the intensive care unit of the Hospital Emergencias Ate Vitarte, Lima - 2022

Abstract

Objective: To determine the relationship between the knowledge and practices of the nurse on aspiration of secretions in adult patients intubated in the intensive care unit of the Ate Vitarte Emergency Hospital, Lima 2022. Methods: the study will be a deductive method, with a quantitative, basic approach. , cross-sectional and correlational design. The population and sample will be made up of 60 nurses who work in the intensive care unit (ICU) of the Ate Vitarte Emergency Hospital - Lima. The sample will be taken October - February 2022, using as an instrument a questionnaire designed by Cahua Ventura in 2015, the result shows the reliability of the instrument acquiring through the KR 20 in knowledge 0.86 and in practice 0.98, thus concluding that the instrument is reliable for knowledge and practice. The nurse's knowledge variables are assessed as high, medium and low; and practice, good, regular and bad.

Objetivo: Determinar la relación entre los conocimientos y prácticas de la enfermera sobre aspiración de secreciones en pacientes adultos entubados en la unidad de cuidados intensivos del Hospital Emergencias Ate Vitarte, Lima 2022. Métodos: el estudio será de método deductivo, con enfoque cuantitativo, básica, de diseño transversal y correlacional. La población y muestra estará formado por 60 enfermeras que laboren en la unidad de cuidados intensivos (UCI) del Hospital Emergencia Ate Vitarte - Lima. La muestra se tomará octubre – febrero del 2022, utilizando como instrumento un cuestionario diseñado por Cahua Ventura en el 2015, resultado muestra la confiabilidad del instrumento adquiriendo mediante el KR 20 en conocimientos 0.86 y en practica 0.98, concluyendo así que el instrumento es confiable para el conocimiento y práctica. Se valora las variables de conocimiento de la enfermera en alto, medio y bajo; y la práctica, en bueno, regular y malo.
