Level of knowledge about seismic events and attitudes of nursing staff in the emergency area of a hospital in Lima, 2023

Abstract

Natural disasters, which can affect individuals, families, groups and entire communities in general, are the main cause of losses in environmental, economic and human resources. Therefore, hospital centers must implement business continuity strategies for both prevention and response to this type of natural events. General objective: To determine the relationship between the level of knowledge about seismic events and the attitudes of the nursing staff in the emergency area of a hospital in Lima, 2023. Materials and Methods: This research will be carried out according to a hypothetical-deductive method, quantitative, cross-sectional, non-experimental and correlational approach, which will allow obtaining expected results according to the hypothesis that is exposed. In the same way, to measure the two variables the technique will be the survey with two questionnaires, all validated by the work of Luna (2022). Cronbach's Alpha coefficient will be used to determine the reliability of both variables, whose evaluation results are between 0.81 and 0.95, which guarantees the validity of the instrument. Excel and the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 23.0 will be used for the calculations and statistical analysis of the data. The analysis and interpretation of the data will be carried out using tables and graphs, and Spearman's Rho will be used to calculate the relationship between the two significant variables.

Las catástrofes naturales, que pueden afectar a individuos, familias, grupos y comunidades enteras en general, son la principal causa de pérdidas en recursos medioambientales, económicos y humanos. Por ello, los centros hospitalarios deben poner en marcha estrategias de continuidad operativa tanto para la prevención como para la respuesta ante este tipo de sucesos naturales. Objetivo general: Determinar la relación existente entre el nivel de conocimiento sobre eventos sísmicos y las actitudes del personal de enfermería en el área de emergencia de un Hospital de Lima, 2023. Materiales y Métodos: Esta investigación se realizará de acuerdo método hipotético deductivo, enfoque cuantitativo, transversal, no experimental y de alcance correlacional, la cual permitirá obtener resultados esperados de acuerdo a la hipótesis que se expone. De la misma manera, para medir las dos variables la técnica será la encuesta con dos cuestionarios, todo ello validado por el trabajo de Luna (2022). El coeficiente Alfa de Cronbach se utilizará para determinar la fiabilidad de ambas variables, cuyos resultados de la evaluación se sitúan entre 0,81 y 0,95, lo que garantiza la validez del instrumento. Para los cálculos y el análisis estadístico de los datos se utilizarán Excel y el programa estadístico Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) versión 23.0. El análisis e interpretación de los datos se realizarán mediante tablas y gráficos, para calcular la relación entre las dos variables significativas se utilizará la Rho de Spearman
