Knowledge about exclusive breastfeeding in mothers who attend a Maternal and Child Center in Lima, 2024

Abstract

This research aims to: Determine the level of knowledge about exclusive breastfeeding in mothers who attend a Maternal and Child Center in Lima, 2024. Methodological design: Descriptive, non-experimental cross-sectional with a quantitative approach. Considering its sample of 132 mothers of infants under 6 months old attended at the CRED clinic of the Lima Maternal and Child Center during the period of 2024. Instrument: A questionnaire will be applied as an instrument that will measure the level of knowledge about exclusive breastfeeding, the which was previously applied by Astocondor Mitma, Diana in 2021. This will present the following parts: the title, presentation, general data and 17 dichotomous items that will serve to evaluate the level of knowledge about SCI in its dimensions: generalities, benefits and techniques of breastfeeding. The following response options were considered: Yes or No; with the following score: YES answer, 2 points and NO answer, 1 point. The author validated her instrument by expert judgment, reporting reliability of 0.75 in Cronbach's alpha. Data collection: will last approximately 30 minutes, for each participant, for the analysis and interpretation of data: SPSS-v27 will be applied and the analysis considers: First stage considers descriptive statistics techniques applying percentages, tables and graphs to identify the levels of each variable and the way in which they are presented among the professionals who participated in the research, for the inferential part and applying Spearman coefficient the hypotheses will be verified.

Esta investigación tiene como Objetivo: Determinar el nivel de conocimiento sobre lactancia materna exclusiva en madres que acuden a un Centro Materno Infantil de Lima, 2024. Diseño metodológico: Descriptivo no experimental de corte transversal con enfoque cuantitativo. Considerando su muestra de 132 madres de lactantes menores a 6 meses atendidos en el consultorio de CRED del Centro Materno Infantil de Lima durante el periodo del 2024. Instrumento: Se aplicará como instrumento un cuestionario que medirá el nivel de conocimiento sobre lactancia materna exclusiva, el cual fue aplicado previamente por Astocondor Mitma, Diana en el 2021. Este presentara las siguientes partes: el título, la presentación, datos generales y 17 ítems dicotómicos que servirán para evaluar el nivel de conocimiento sobre LME en sus dimensiones: generalidades, beneficios y técnicas de la lactancia materna. Se consideraron las siguientes opciones de respuestas: Si o No; con la siguiente puntuación: respuesta SI 2 puntos y respuesta NO, 1 punto. La autora valido su instrumento por juicio de expertos, la confiabilidad reporto de 0.75 en el alfa de Cronbach. La recolección de datos: tendrá una duración aproximada de 30 minutos, para cada participante, para el análisis e interpretación de datos: Se aplicará el SPSS-v27 y el análisis considera: Primera etapa considera las técnicas de estadística descriptiva aplicando porcentajes, tablas y gráficos para identificar los niveles de cada variable y la forma en que estos se presentan entre los profesionales que participaron en la investigación, para la parte inferencial y aplicando coeficiente de Spearman se verificará las hipótesis.
