Peripheric muscle force and sleep quality in firefighters of the XXIV Departmental Commander Lima Sur 2023

Abstract

The fire department requires a comprehensive prior evaluation. Considering that they perform multiple activities, it is important to understand that muscle strength must always be evaluated by specialists. To perform this work, many must have great muscle strength. The ability to sleep is a vital physiological need that helps improve physical and mental performance. The work of firefighters often involves night shifts, which can lead to sleep disorders, negatively affecting their health and sleep quality. Considering the context of this population and the lack of research on firefighters in Peru, there is a need to analyze and interpret new findings, which will highlight the role of physiotherapists as health promoters. General objective: To determine the relationship between peripheral muscle strength and sleep quality in firefighters of the XXIV South Lima Departmental Command in 2023. Research method: Hypothetical-deductive. Research focus: Quantitative. Research type: Non-experimental, descriptive-correlational. Research design: Cross-sectional. Sampling: Non-probabilistic convenience sampling.

El cuerpo de bomberos necesita de una evaluación previa integral. Considerando que realizan múltiples actividades, es importante saber que la fuerza muscular debe de siempre ser evaluada por especialistas, es por ello, que, para poder ejercer esta labor, muchos deben de tener una gran fuerza muscular. El poder dormir es una necesidad vital y fisiológica que ayuda a poder mejorar nuestro rendimiento físico y mental. La labor de los bomberos, implica que muchas veces las guardias nocturnas conllevarán a que tengan trastornos del sueño, alterando su salud y la calidad de sueño. Considerando el contexto de la población y frente a una escasez de investigaciones en bomberos del Perú, nos vemos en la necesidad de analizar e interpretar nuevos hallazgos, que permitirán poner bajo el reflector la labor del fisioterapeuta como agente de promoción de la salud. Objetivo general: Determinar la relación que existe entre fuerza muscular periférica y calidad de sueño de los bomberos de la XXIV comandancia departamental Lima Sur en el año 2023. Método de la investigación: Hipotético deductivo. Enfoque de la investigación: Cuantitativa. Tipo de investigación: Tipo no experimental, descriptivo-correlacional. Diseño de la investigación: Transversal. Muestreo: No probabilístico por conveniencia.
