Knowledge of patient care under sedation and analgesia and nursing practice in the intensive care unit of a public hospital in Lima, 2023

Abstract

The general objective of this research is to determine how knowledge about patient care with sedative analgesia is related to the practice of the nursing professional in the Intensive Care Unit in a Public Hospital in Lima, 2023. It is a study with a quantitative approach, applied type, it will have a descriptive – correlational, cross-sectional, nonexperimental design. The sample will be made up of 30 nursing professionals who work in the Intensive Care Unit of a Public Hospital in Lima. The techniques will be survey and observation; The instruments will be a questionnaire for the knowledge variable and an observation guide (checklist) for nursing practice in the care of patients with sedative analgesia in the Intensive Care Unit, prepared by Alayo, Castañeda and Tarrillo in their study in the 2018, which have validity and reliability. The data that will be collected will be analyzed and the hypothesis will be interpreted through statistical tests. To measure the relationship of the variables, the Spearman correlation coefficient statistical test will be used.

La presente investigación tiene como objetivo general determinar cómo el conocimiento sobre el cuidado del paciente con sedo analgesia se relaciona con la práctica del profesional de enfermería en la Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos en un Hospital Público en Lima, 2023. Es un estudio de enfoque cuantitativo, de tipo aplicada, tendrá un diseño descriptivo correlacional, de corte transversal, no experimental. La muestra estará conformada por 30 profesionales de enfermería que laboran en la Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos de un Hospital Público en Lima. Las técnicas serán la encuesta y la observación; los instrumentos serán un cuestionario para la variable conocimiento y una guía de observación (checklist) para la práctica de enfermería en el cuidado del paciente con sedo analgesia en la Unidad de cuidados intensivos, elaborado por Alayo, Castañeda y Tarrillo en su estudio en el 2018, los cuales tienen validez y confiabilidad. Los datos que serán recolectados se analizarán e interpretarán la hipótesis mediante pruebas estadísticas. Para medir la relación de las variables se utilizará la prueba estadística del coeficiente de correlación de Spearman.
