Knowledge in handwashing and adherence of nursing professionalsin the intensive care unit of the Essalud hospital of Callao -2024

Abstract

Introduction: Handwashing by healthcare personnel is a fundamental practice for preventing disease transmission for both patients and healthcare personnel, so controlling compliance guarantees a safe environment. Objective: “To determine the level of knowledge and adherence to handwashing of nursing graduates in the intensive care unit of the hospital, Callao, 2024.” Method: Study that will use a hypothetical deductive method with a basic quantitative approach and correlational design. The population consisted of 43 nursing professionals from the ICU, who were selected based on the inclusion criteria of the study. The data collection technique is the survey through an instrument developed by WHO to measure the variable knowledge of 10 items and adherence based on the 5 moments of hand washing. The survey and observation technique were used, the data will be stored through a Microsoft Excel matrix and then processed for analysis in the statistical program SPSS version 25. For descriptive analysis, the frequencies and percentages will be presented. The relationship between the variables will be previously measured by a Kolmogorov – Smirnov normality test which will determine a non-parametric test with the Rho Spearman coefficient to determine the response of the hypothesis.

Introducción: El personal sanitario tiene un papel fundamental en la prevención de transmisión de enfermedades tanto para los pacientes y el personal de salud, es así que un control de su cumplimiento del lavado de manos garantiza un entorno seguro. Objetivo: “Determinar conocimiento en el lavado de manos y adherencia de los profesionales en enfermería de la unidad de cuidados intensivos del hospital essalud de callao -2024”. Método: Estudio que usaráunmétodo hipotético deductivo con un enfoque cuantitativo de tipo básica y con diseño correlacional. La Población constituida por 43 profesionales de enfermería de la (UCI)., el cual fueron seleccionados basados en los criterios inclusión del estudio. El instrumento elaborado OMS para medir la variable conocimiento de 10 ítems y adherencia basadas en los 5 momentos del lavado de manos. Se usaron la técnica de la encuesta y observación,sus datosserán almacenadosa través de una matriz de Microsof Excel y luego procesados para su análisis en el programa estadístico SPSS versión 25. Para análisis descriptivo se presentará las frecuencias y porcentajes. Para relación de la variable serámedido previamenteporunaprueba de normalidad de Kolmogorov – Smirnov, el cual determinará una prueba no paramétrica con el coeficiente Rho Spearman para determinarla respuesta de la hipótesis.
